Will low-impact exercise make me sweat?

Contrary to popular belief, low-impact exercise is a great way to get sweaty! A lot of people think that if you’re not sweating or aren’t doing an intense enough workout, then the exercise isn’t effective or of benefit to the body – but that couldn’t be farther from the truth.

How does low-impact exercise make me sweat?

Low-impact or low-intensity training works to elevate heart rate in a similar way to more intense types of exercise such as HIIT workouts, while minimising stress on joints and muscles – think a brisk walk instead of running.

With an increased heart rate our muscles require more oxygen from working harder, making us breathe faster and deeper. As our muscles work harder, we generate heat, and we start to sweat!
