Stay fit and healthy during Ramadan

Some helpful advice on exercising and managing energy intake during Ramadan

Keep exercising

Exercise approximately 2-3hrs after breaking your fast (8pm-9pm). This is when the food has digested, energy levels are high, and you are well hydrated. Staying hydrated will help to give you more energy and will keep your appetite intact until breaking fast time.

Eat well

Try to stay away from the traditional foods when you break your fast. These foods are often fried, and high in saturated fat and sugar. Keep it simple and healthy, with lots of fresh fruit, vegetables, and foods that have a low GI which will help you feel fuller for longer.

Develop healthy eating habits

Ramadan is the perfect time to detox your body and develop the power to overcome food temptations. As you are in control of portion sizes at this time, use it as an opportunity to make healthier choices.

Drink lots of water

Staying hydrated will help to give you more energy and will keep your appetite intact until breaking fast time.

Stay fit with brief workouts

Keep your workouts between 30-45 minutes in duration, three times per week. Train efficiently whilst making the most of this time limit.

This is general advice, so we recommend working with a personal trainer when switching up your workout, returning to training after an injury, increasing weights or intensity of your workouts, and for best practice advice on correct form, technique and posture.
