How Sarah reached her goals with group fitness
Albury member Sarah Van Den Heuvel discovered a love for group fitness when she joined Fernwood. Since joining in 2018, she has transformed her lifestyle and lost 17.8kgs in the process.
"Before joining Fernwood I was overweight and had a terrible mindset. I needed motivation and classes, and my old gym didn't offer this. At Fernwood I get access to Personal Trainers, classes, the equipment on the gym floor and I'm surrounded by women.
I joined Fernwood and fell in love with the classes. The staff are always welcoming, know you by name and you know when you walk through those doors, it's a lovely and safe environment.
Since joining Fernwood I have been able to reach my weight loss goal and I have been pushing myself to live a healthier lifestyle. I am getting married this year and Fernwood is helping me achieve my lifestyle goals. I’m now six days active at the gym a week, including double classes most days and some gym sessions too.
The most challenging part has been pushing myself to keep going and not give up. It was so tough at the start of my journey but now I'm seeing results, it’s more motivating for me.
The key to my success has been motivation from the class instructors and staff. I look forward to going to the gym everyday it’s exciting. I also have a gym buddy and we do everything together and both motivate each other.
I am now happier, healthier and more confident about my body, I'm a new person and I love it. I will continue to support my healthy lifestyle and continued weight loss journey. I now feel part of the Fernwood family.
