Those straps hanging from the Functional Fit area of your Fernwood gym look pretty unassuming – but when used in the right way, they can deliver a killer core workout tougher than your average plank session.
The key to their difficulty is the instability factor: when your hands or feet are suspended in the TRX straps, you lose two points of contact with the floor. Meaning you need to recruit more of your core muscles to stabilise yourself and remain balanced.
