International Women's Day

International Women’s Day on March 8 gives us the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women all over the world and to also highlight the potential that all women have to make a difference in all aspects of their lives, their local community and the community at large. Fernwood was founded over two decades ago with the vision to ‘empower women to shine’ by creating a sanctuary where women can improve their health and fitness.

“Being fit and healthy is about being in control and gaining confidence,” says Fernwood founder Diana Williams. “One of the most rewarding things about this business is seeing the huge number of Australian women whose lives have changed due to the fact that they became Fernwood members and became fitter, healthier and most importantly more confident.”

“Through that confidence, they have been able to change careers, take control, open businesses and become great achievers in the many and varied fields they choose.”

Diana explains that women are very good at giving credit to others, but not so great at accepting credit or patting themselves on the back.

“There has been an attitudinal shift over the last few decades but women are still a long way off true equality,” she says, “so by having a day that publicly recognises the achievements of women goes a long way to making a difference.”

To celebrate International Women’s Day, Fernwood Fitness is opening clubs across the country and inviting all women to try the club for free all day.

Why, you ask?

“The people that own and operate our clubs are so passionate about what they do and work so hard to provide welcoming and motivating training environments for their members,” says Fernwood Marketing Manager Bianca Richards. “We’d love every woman in Australia to experience the Fernwood difference, and what better way than inviting everyone in on a day that is solely about celebrating women.”

If you’d like to contact your local Fernwood Fitness or check out their class timetables ahead of time, you can do so here. Otherwise simply come down to your local Club* on March 8 and celebrate with us!

*At participating clubs only
