Managing morning sickness

Morning Sickness:

  • Eat small frequent meals and snacks
  • Eat a small snack before getting out of bed
  • Avoid fried, fatty and spicy foods
  • Avoid pungent food smells
  • Try to prepare food when you are feeling well
  • Sip ginger-ale


Heartburn:

  • Avoid trigger foods
  • Avoid fried fatty and spicy foods
  • Eat small frequent meals, rather than large meals
  • Avoid drinking with meals
  • Stay upright as much as possible
  • Stop eating several hours before going to bed
  • Avoid caffeine


Constipation:

  • Increase the fibre in your diet by eating more wholegrain breads and cereals, fresh fruit and vegetables.
  • Drink more water
  • Exercise daily
